Yellow Bird Project (YBP) is a company that collaborates with indie bands to raise money for charity. Over the years they've teamed up with bands like Bloc Party, Bon Iver, Beach House, Daughter, Devendra Banhart, CHVRCHES, Hot Chip, John Grant, The National, The Shins, TV on the Radio and dozens more to produce original charity tees, which are sold exclusively through their e-commerce website.Since its inception in 2006, YBP has grown and diversified to include book publishing, music releases, events and film. In 2008 they formed a partnership with San Francisco based publisher, Chronicle Books, releasing The Indie Rock Coloring Book, followed by The Indie Rock Poster Book, The Indie Rock Button Factory and Music Notes: A Journal.In April 2015 they released a covers compilation, titled: GOOD PEOPLE ROCK. The album features 10 exclusive recordings of YBP bands covering other YBP bands, including Andrew Bird, Elvis Perkins, Keaton Henson, Hayden and The Tallest Man on Earth. The album's first single, Andrew Bird's cover of "The Fake Headlines" (originally by The New Pornographers), was released on April 7, 2015 with a music video that was premiered on Pitchfork Media.In 2016, UK based charity Trekstock took over the management of the project, enabling all funds to be raised for one cause - young adults living with cancer.
