|| Professional, Passionate, and Purposeful Piano Lessons for Students of All Ages ||Alice Pugh, my own piano teacher, taught me from the age of five out of John Thompson's method books. I struggled for a while with small challenges—coordinating my left hand with my right, forcing my small handsto use the correct fingering, playing in keys with multiple sharps. For as much as she taught me to appreciate classical music, she also integrated songs that she loved. I learned pieces like Stardust and In the Mood, instilling my passion for big band swing, slow jazz, and mellow tunes. Now, my own mission, and that of Yellow House Studio, is simple—to teach the fundamentals of piano so that students of all ages can play professionally, passionately, and purposefully. Students will learn to push through challenges and perform amidst nervous tendencies. They will build a customizedrepertoire, learning from classical giants (Bach, Czerny, Mozart) and modern composers (Yann Tiersen, Ludovico Eunadi, Piano Adventures Method Books), as well as incorporating their own style and creativity through ear training and listening exercises. When you walk in the door of Yellow House Studio, you'll be welcomed with a hanging picture of Alice Pugh's beautiful yellow home in Amo, Indiana. Whether you're a parent of a student or a student yourself, I want that picture to be a reminder of my mission—this studio is where dreams come true and where students can learn to create and express themselves for purposes they'll discover throughout their lives—just like I did in the little yellow house.WHAT I OFFER• Private, individual piano lessons for any age, at any level• A space for a student to bolster creativity and a passion for music and hone that creativity into a useful purpose• A solid foundation in music theory to aid in lessons and beyond• Opportunities to develop skills in performance through competition, recitals, and more
