Hosted by Yenching Academy at Peking University, the Yenching Global Symposium was founded to foster a deeper, multidisciplinary understanding of China and to cultivate a new generation of global leaders. Each year, the four-day event consists of multidisciplinary lectures, panel discussions, and interactive sessions featuring prominent Chinese and international scholars and leading professionals from a wide range of fields. Delegates to the symposium include the existing corps of Yenching Scholars along with a highly competitive pool of international delegates. Together, symposium delegates comprise a highly-distinguished group of young leaders pulled from the most prestigious universities and post-graduate programs around the world.We are excited to announce the theme of our upcoming Symposium: "Shared Renewal: Recoupling East with West". As such, we will reflect upon the consequences of the pandemic; discuss solutions that build resilient and sustainable societies; and chart the recovery – all with an interdisciplinary and international lens. Given the risks of COVID-19, and to comply with public health regulations, this Symposium will be held online, during April 16th-18th, 2021.
