Yeshivas Mir was founded in Mir, Belarus in 1814 as one of the first modern yeshivas. The Yeshiva has persevered throughout the years, surviving the holocaust and growing from a yeshiva of less than 200 faculty and students combined to over 10,000 today. Yeshivas Mir has always been considered one of the most academically rigorous Yeshivos worldwide and is home to the largest shiur given in the world, by Rav Asher Arieli.
