ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION: York County Economic Development is the core organization responsible for retaining and cultivating business and industry in York County. We help to create and support a business-friendly environment that welcomes new corporations as well as encourages the growth and sustainability of our existing industries. OUR SERVICES: • Relocation assistance and tax incentives • Maintaining and developing an inventory of available buildings and sites • Demographic and market research • Utility information requests • Workforce training assistance • Familiarization tours and site visits • Existing industry retention and expansion services • Coordinating local, state and private economic development efforts ABOUT US: Our department is an office of York County and is governed by the County Council of York County. The 17-member Economic Development Board appointed by the York County Council advises the Director and his staff. We receive additional funding from Growth Partners, local private sector supporters interested in furthering the economic development efforts in our area. Our organization is a member of the Charlotte Regional Partnership, a nonprofit, public/private economic development organization representing the 16-county Charlotte Region. We are also members of the South Carolina I-77 Alliance, a nonprofit economic development coalition of York, Chester, Fairfield and Richland Counties. We work closely with economic development partners including the South Carolina Department of Commerce, local municipalities, utility providers and York County area chambers of commerce. ABOUT YORK COUNTY: York County, South Carolina is located directly across the state line from Charlotte, North Carolina. The county possess the many advantages of a South Carolina location and business climate while enjoying adjacent access to the largest metropolitan area in the two Carolinas – Charlotte.
