Our users adjusted their habits little by little until they comprehended how their actions impacted their financial life—all of this without taking away their freedom to choose. It was so effective that it was the only paid PFM in the market; users paid USD 20/ month. How did it work?By giving feedback every single time users made an expense. At that moment, our algorithms would run several scenarios that provided input on how that decision impacted their future possibilities. For example, how a $45 purchase limited her cash flow for three weeks. Or even how a new $20 recurring expense represented four more hours of work per week in the future to cover it. That meant instant feedback loops that, upon repetition, systematically improved decision making.
