The Central Dredging Association (CEDA), founded in 1978, is an international, independent professional society for all those involved in activities related to dredging, water-based infrastructure and dredged sediment management and who live and work in Europe, Africa or the Middle East. It is an easy-to-access leading platform for the exchange of knowledge and an authoritative reference point for impartial technical and scientific information.Through its publications, conferences, professional and educational activities and participation as non-governmental observer in numerous international regulatory bodies, CEDA fosters technological innovation, advancement of best practice and contributes to global sustainable development. CEDA members – corporations, organisations and individuals – come from many different fields and include national government bodies and agencies, port and navigational authorities, owners of large infrastructures, dredging companies, equipment manufacturers, academia, research institutions, consultancy firms. CEDA's views, positions as well as products and services are based on input from all professional groups within its membership and CEDA represents the common interests of all these fields. CEDA has over 550 individual and 150 corporate members from 38 countries. CEDA is a member of the World Organisation of Dredging Associations (WODA), www.woda.org
