Young India Books is an unique organization located in India, that passionately believes that Indian children should read more books on india in order to appreciate their rich heritage. YIB is apart from most other blogsites and websites as it provides an integrated approach and ensures children can choose from thousands of books that are educational and entertaining, books that create an awareness on India's wildlife and cultural heritage, books that make children think and take cognizance of India's great historical past and current social issues. Young India Books has initiated an unique annual award for schools, titled Leading Reading Schools of India Awards by which five schools are honoured for inculcating a reading culture among students and for motivating students to enhance their analytical and writing skills. Children win prizes and schools are awarded trophies.This year a biannual award for books selected by children has been established. Children's Choice Award has been initiated to understand and appreciate changing tastes in children's reading preferences. Books published over a period of two years are made available to children. They are invited to read them, select one of their choice and rate it. This provides valuable feedback to publishers, authors, illustrators, bookstores, schools, and parents.Young India Books is actively building links with publishers, authors, illustrators and educators and reaching out to premium schools across the country.
