Now in its 10th year, the Young Innovator Awards (YIA) was established to develop a culture of innovation in the Western Bay of Plenty through inspiring and encouraging young people to become true creative innovators.2020 will see YiA encourage problem-solving based on New Zealand's COVID-19 lockdown.Unlike any other year, we have had to think fast, and make innovative decisions on how we could make this year's competition work in the context of COVID-19.We challenge students to a five-week innovation sprint; Innovate in lockdown!The best entries, as judged by top innovators in NZ and abroad, win internships at leading innovative businesses in the Bay plus cash prizes up to $2,000.
