Request live content on-the-fly from anyone with a smartphone. http://youporter.com Youporter is a webapp that connects to Twitter Live Streaming API, parses the tweet's geolocation data and updates the client's map, plotting the results in a real-time heatmap. It uses Google Maps API V3 with a Heatmap layer, Redis PubSub and Websockets (Thin + Nginx). The heatmap's purpose is to show where there are people with smartphones right now, so a remote user can send them a request for content of that area (photos, videos or text), and pay a small value for that microtransaction (it works over a mobile app). Youporter was one of the 7 startups selected among 36 to pitch at John Hopkins Innovation Factory, in October 2013. During the LAX shooting (november 1st 2013), while CBS was trying to get information from people coming out of the airport (with no luck), Youporter was able to get real time information about the situation inside of the airport, direct from Twitter's users.
