I am a sole proprietor. It's like having a solution architect perspective but not every task I work on is design or pre-sales, I do busy work too. One of my products is a solution architect as a service where a customer buys a block of hours and I represent them in whatever the project or engagement might be. I love the whole project life cycle process and I am really good at it. When I started my company I realized there was a clear gap and need for a very technical person to represent a customer for large projects cradle to grave. Think very technical project manager who can and does lead from the front. That being said I have other products that might just be as simple as configuring Netflow on a large group of switches/routers because a customer just needs help with the unexpected workload.
