Your True Shade (YTS) is Jamaica's premiere vegan and natural cosmetic line. We manufacture make up and skin care for women of all skin types and tones. Our products are made in Jamaica and formulated by Dianne Plummer (Founder and CEO). She is a Caribbean woman who is aware of the different skin challenges such as difficulty matching the various tones, oil control and sensitive skin. The line was started by our CEO who was an engineering Master's student at Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden. She had difficulty finding her correct shade of makeup as a woman of colour. As a result, she decided to use her background in chemical engineering to create her line of makeup and skincare. After graduating in 2014, she decided to return to Jamaica to register her company and brand and to complete her formula development, Bureau of Standards testing and Ministry of Health filing. The brand became official in 2015 and is the first and only Caribbean cosmetics line to receive cruelty free certification from Cruelty Free International which is a certification body that vets brands all over the world. Currently, YTS wants to help women in throughout Jamaica and the Caribbean diaspora who have similar issues to our CEO; inability to find makeup and skincare for their specific shade and sensitive skin.
