Youth Voices Center, established in 2008, has the sole MISSION of improving the quality of life of young people through Positive Youth Development in a safe and supportive environment, encouraging youth to become active, productive members of their families, schools and communities. In other words, we provide youth with the tools, skills and experiences to take charge of their lives and education and forge bright futures. We believe that youth must "Be the Driver of their Car" and "Shake The Dirt Off" in order to be leaders in their schools and communities and make social change. Through our Power of Peace program and our passionate and committed leadership, we address the challenges that young people face every day, inside and outside of the classroom and provide a safe place for them to voice their fears and concerns. A variety of experiential workshop activities are used to promote conflict management, leadership, teamwork and collaboration, decision making, respect for others and self, and diversity. We help them to realize their personal self-worth and values so that each makes positive contributions to society.
