The Youth Voices for Washington is an entirely youth driven panel in Washington State that works on issues and legislation alongside federal representatives. Through these youth advisory councils, we aim to bring issues that affect young people to the forefront and establish a direct pipeline from youth thought to federal action creating a truly representative democracy.Youth Voices for Washington was created in 2021 by a group of four organizers from all across the state as part of the Blue Future's Spring for Progress and Change Program 2021. Through these councils, we hope to encourage a youth movement across Washington state that encourages youth involvement in politics. We hope to amplify youth voices, uplift minority young people and provide to them a platform to collaborate and work with their representatives in order to build a better Washington!We are striving to uplift young, progressive voices from each of the 10 congressional districts in Washington state by connecting them to their representatives to voice their views on federal legislation. We hope to create a platform for youth to research, discuss, and propose policy initiatives to their representatives in order to ensure they have an avenue to enact change.
