Nonprofit Organization Management - Dhaka, Dhaka Division, Bangladesh
YouthWalk Bangladesh is a non-profit and non-partisan youth organization aiming to drive positive social change through sustainable development. We believe that lasting change can be brought about only when people take ownership of their own problems, and we work alongside our beneficiaries to conceptualize and implement innovative solutions to pressing challenges.YWBD commenced on September 6, 2013. It was founded by a diverse group- both academic and socioeconomic- of enthusiastic and committed individuals who are working together with a shared vision of a better Bangladesh. It has run projects all across the spectrum, from providing underprivileged children with access to free primary education to launching awareness activities in order to shift rigid paradigms. We championed adaptive change and the participation of our beneficiaries in the solution - lasting change is possible only when people take ownership of their problems. It recognizes the immense amount of passion that the youth of Bangladesh feel towards social change and is a platform for young minds with the desire, courage, and commitment to bring about collective societal development, one small step at a time.It has two flagship project: Road to School (R2S) and Trash The Ash (TTA); R2S is an education-centered project aimed at increasing literacy rate among the impoverished community and increasing educational awareness among the mass people whereas TTA is a awareness raising program aimed at building consciousness among the school-going young people about the dangers of smoking & narcotics. These two flagship projects have their inception, on November 2012, in a leadership training program (Building Bridges Through Leadership Training-9) conducted by Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center as a part of community service project of the training program. Upon the inception of YWBD, these two projects were integrated as a part of YWBD.
