Nestled at the base of Kokrines Hills on the North bank of the Yukon River, Yukon River Lodge is located in the heart of Alaska across from the Nowitna National Wildlife Refuge.This is a place where time slows down and wolves roam free. It is the true Alaska – remote, wild and beautiful. Activities at the lodge in the summer include - fishing day trips (Northern Pike, Grayling & Sheefish primarily), remote hot springs visit, wildlife & bird watching, Alaska Village & Cultural/Historic tours, Yukon River tours & custom guided trips. Winter activities include snowshoeing, wildlife watching, ice fishing, remote hot springs, experiencing the peace and tranquility of the Yukon River, sitting by the bonfire under the Aurora overlooking the majestic Yukon River and checking out the Iditarod Sled Dog Race when the race comes through Ruby. More info: https://www.tinyurl.com/YRL2019We're located between the Nowitna (Novi) River (approx. 30 miles upriver) and the Melozitna (Melozi) River (approx. 14 miles downriver). The lodge is only 7 river miles from the Horner Hot Springs trailhead, 30 miles by air to Melozi Hot Springs, and approximately 15 river miles from the village of Ruby, Alaska. We're about an 8 hour boat ride (with stops) from the Yukon River Bridge and the perfect layover stop for people headed to the Koyukuk, Yuki, Innoko, or other river systems further down the Yukon. Off the road system (approx halfway between Fairbanks and Nome), the lodge is accessible by boat, helicopter, float plane, ski plane and snow machine. Visitors can also fly into Ruby on commercial flights with Wright Air Service or Ravn Air and be picked up there.Come experience the wonder, beauty and warmth of our true Alaska secret on the Yukon River.
