YWCA of Bethlehem Details

YWCA Bethlehem has been a voice for civil rights and woman's equality in the Lehigh Valley for 90 years. From our TechGYRLS STEM program and senior services to efforts to promote racial justice and end gender-based violence, YWCA Bethlehem works to build a world that works for everyone. Through an array of programs, services and events, we strive to build community, raise awareness and inspire action. The work of YWCA Bethlehem is guided by the mission we share with over 225 YWCA branches across the country: "YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all." Together, YWCAs works to advance social change in three focus areas:• racial justice and civil rights• economic empowerment of women and girls• health and safety of women and girls YWCA Bethlehem offers programs to support success for girls, women and families. TechGYRLS is an after-school STEM program that provides elementary and middle school girls with a hands-on exploration of coding, animation, engineering and robotics. The LPGA-USGA Girls Golf of the Lehigh Valley teaches girls aged 7-17 the game of golf. The Prom Dress Pop-Up Shop allows teens to "shop smart" for prom with an incredible inventory of over 2,000 new and nearly new donated dresses. Our racial justice programming includes Diversity Reading Circles and Youth Study Circles, as well as YWCA USA's annual "Stand Against Racism" campaign. Our Adult Services Day Center provides a loving second home for seniors living with cognitive and physical disabilities including dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. For working families, our day service model of care offers an affordable care option that allows older loves ones to live at home safely and happily as long as possible. Seniors at the Day Center enjoy music, art, cooking, games, gardening and other social activities. Our sunny, welcoming center is the perfect place for an older loved one to spend the day.
