Zara investment holding was founded in 10 May 1994 by Sabih Al-Masri, who currently chairs the board of directors) and Khalil Talhoni, in addition to a number of investors and local banks and Arab and international investment companies, such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC).[1] Basically, Zara invests in Tourism; particularly, in the Hotels sector. Today, Zara is ranked of the largest leading investment groups in Jordan.Zara investment managed to develop a network of first-class hotels and tourism services professionally and effectively. Zara is the biggest company owning 5-star hotels in Jordan, where it owns 7 hotels in strategic tourism locations in Jordan such as: Dead Sea, Petra and Amman. The number of hotel rooms owned by Zara Investment is 2131; which equals 30% of the total number of hotel rooms of all 5-start hotels in Jordan.In addition, Zara is rated to have the highest employment percentage, where its number of employees reached 2357 in 2014, which is 26% of the entire number of the workforce in the 5-star hotels in Jordan.
