ZEN Productions is a theatre troupe on Long Island which performs both Shadowcasts and entirely live stage plays. While we are based in Long Island, we have also performed in Upstate New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York City.A shadowcast is a group of people acting out a movie in full costume and in sync with the film playing on the projector screen behind them. It's like a live show and a movie at the same time. Our shadowcasts look and run very much like stage plays, with props, sets, and screen-accurate costumes (or as close to screen-accurate as we can get). We also have all the personnel you'd expect in a regular theater production: stage manager, stage crew, technical director, etc.Subsidiaries:ZEN, or the Zydrate Enthusiasts NetworkThe New York shadowcast troupe of REPO! The Genetic Opera. We primarily perform in Long Island and New York City, but we are currently the only REPO! shadowcast in all of New York.The ZEN Room A Long Island shadowcast troupe of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.To audition, please contact our Producing Artistic Director, Jordana Dlugacz at contact@zenproductionsny.com. To audition, you must be 18 years of age and be available for rehearsals on Saturday afternoons. No experience is required, but we do prefer people with theatre and/or dance experience. We are always looking for actors and crew.
