A new video games company was born in Limerick during the COVID pandemic. ZenLand Video Games is a small Irish company who is about to launch its first game "Echo Beach" in Autumn 2021. The company is headed up by Damien Mac Namara who got together with LIT and LSAD graduates to form the core of the creative team."ZenLand was born out of a kind-of necessity because the arcade I was running had to close down due to COVID. I had a conversation with one of the customers in the arcade about designing a video game and luckily he had recently graduated from LSAD's animation course. The company pretty much grew from there to the point where we have 5 LSAD graduates and 3 LIT graduates / current students. When you think about it, our city's colleges have all the right ingredients for a video games company: artists form LSAD and programmers from LIT!"
