zero42 is a Brazilian think-tank dedicated to understand the social impacts of new technologies, and to create frameworks for a much more democratic development of those.Occupying technology with people. As we aspire for a political system as democratic as possible, we believe that the tools we use to deal with the world should also be democratically chosen. The discussion space needs to be amplified to comprise universities, governments, enterprises and the whole society. Most of those discussions about technologies and their impacts are, today, restraint to small privileged groups of people. But none of those impacts that they bring are restraint, and the society as a whole takes positions that it has not necessarily chosen. We want to establish structures to create new technologies, as far from the theoretical aspect of it, as much to its practical applications, including voices and visions that are often left aside.
