Zhejiang A & F University (ZAFU), formerly referred as "Tianmu Forestry College" when it was founded in 1958, which was changed to "Zhejiang Forestry College" in 1966 and then combined with Zhejiang Agriculture University in 1970, was officially named as "Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University" in 2010. ZAFU is co-established by Zhejiang Provincial Government and State Forestry Administration, directly under the auspices of Zhejiang Province. As a multidisciplinary university featuring in agriculture, forestry, and biological environment, ZAFU offers degrees in 8 disciplines, including agriculture, science, technology, literature, commerce, law, economics and medicine. ZAFU is composed of Donghu, Yijin and Zhuji campuses, covering 213 hectares and 900,000 square meters of building space. With 17 faculties and one independent college, ZAFU offers 62 undergraduate programs, 55 graduate programs, and 1 postgraduate program. At present, ZAFU has over 32,500 students (including over 1900 graduate students and more than 1000 international students) and 2022 staff. The disciplines of Engineering, and Plant & Animal Science rank in the top 1% of ESI, Forestry in the top 20% and Landscape in the top 30% of national disciplines evaluation. ZAFU now ranks in National Top 200 universities of Academic Ranking of World Universities.ZAFU has one State Key Laboratory of Subtropical Silviculture, one National Engineering Technology Research Center of Wood-based Resources, one National Laboratory of High Efficient Preparation Technology of Biopesticide, one International Tea Culture Base, and 22 Provincial and Ministerial Sci-tech Innovative Laboratories. During the last 5 years, ZAFU researchers produced 10552 publications and received more than 3800 research projects and total research funds of 862 million RMB.
