The Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association (ZELA) has established itself as a premier natural resource governance organisation in Zimbabwe. ZELA's work has evolved from a sole focus on environmental rights to a broader natural resource governance agenda across different natural resources including land, water, wildlife and mineral resources. ZELA has become a critical node to all major discussions on natural resources governance particularly as it relates to extractives. Among the various initiatives the organisation works on, ZELA; Led the establishment of the Publish What You Pay (PWYP)-Zimbabwe coalition and is the current host Currently coordinates the global Kimberly Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) civil society coalition Is the lead convenor of the Zimbabwe Alternative Mining Indaba and has played a key role in the convening of the Alternative Mining Indaba Is one of the leading organisations on Business and Human Rights
