Health, Wellness & Fitness - Islamabad, Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan
Zoya is a one-stop app for health, wellness, nutrition, fitness and beauty information and services for girls and women. The app is the brainchild of a namesake animated character, Zoya who is a young woman in her last year of medical study who's on a mission to bring health and wellness awareness to all the girls and women of Pakistan. Zoya believes that prevention is key to women's health as she lost her mother to cervical cancer, that if detected earlier through regular pap smears, her life could have been saved. Lack of health and prevention awareness, poor medical and mobility infrastructure and cultural taboos all place girls and women at a particularly vulnerable place in society and threaten their very lives. Zoya as a health app aims to provide this infrastructure and support to girls and women by leveraging mobile technology and create a safe space all over. By providing services and applications such as symptom checker, period tracker, ask an expert, finder and home remedies, the app connects girls and women to resources and information they may not have had otherwise. The Zoya newsfeed features all original and culturally sensitive content in the form of articles (print and audio), animations, interviews and videos that not only give voice to the health and wellness concerns of girls and women in Pakistan but also open space for dialogue between peers and professionals through social media engagement and app chats. Zoya is a character that this app aims to build an empowering icon for girls and women in Pakistan around but also create a powerful narrative and movement through. Zoya is a friend and well-wisher to all the girls and women in Pakistan, but she will also help every girl find the Zoya within herself – who believes in the power of her mind, body and soul! A healthy girl can do anything, join the movement.
