Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko, a. s. (ZSSK) (Slovak Passenger Railways,) provides rail passenger transport services in Slovakia. ZSSK is wholly owned by the Slovak Republic, through the Ministry of Transport. Priority part of the property consists of rolling stock (locomotives, carriages). The company was founded in 2005 and is one of three single railway companies in Slovakia (along with Slovak Railways and ZSSK Cargo Slovakia). ZSSK since mid-December 2016 carries an average of 1,445 trains per day. 203 long-distance trains, 1,242 regional and suburban, stopping at 690 stations, rides on routes over 2,800 kilometers of tracks in Slovakia. We provided transport for more than 65 mil. passengers in 2016.
