We are a non-governmental organisation networking a community of professional artists, cultural managers, social workers and volunteers in the region of Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. We have always seen art as a powerful tool for social change, innovation and learning. We see creativity as a tool for empowering individuals to discover constructive ways to make their voices heard, to impact their community and to take control of their future. Our mission is: To provide space for organization and presentation of contemporary art productions (theatre, dance performances, concerts, visual arts, multimedia), To support creation of new artistic works and authorial theatremaking, To link formal and informal education by fostering creativity in children, young people and adults (workshops, seminars, trainings), To promote principles of participatory democracy and civil society (public discussions and events), To organize International Theatre Festival Arteterapia focused on promoting community art with social and political outreach, To cooperate with other Slovak and international artists, cultural managers and institutions, To revitalize and maintain public space for relaxation and free time activities in the adjacent garden.
