Light bulb is an ultimate symbol for good ideas, which are so highly valued in the advertising business. It takes considerable amount of energy to learn how to use ones creativity, to keep the good ideas coming, to learn the difference between the obvious and the innovative. For young people, the schools are usually the powerplants, that provide the energy needed to develop these necessary skills. Unfortunately, Slovak schools are desperately in need of experienced lectors, whose insights come from the real environment. The majority of what we have now are just theoretists and "advertising philosophers". The result is heap of unprepared and unexperienced graduates, who are in most cases unemployable by bigger advertising agency. The effects are significantly bad for both graduates and agencies. As students and at the same time employees of top slovak advertising agencies we decided to create connection between the schools and business to provide the missing energy for the people interested in advertising. We created team-based student advertising contest Žiarovka.
