As the very first domestic NGO dedicated to promoting sustainable fishery and aquaculture in China, China Blue Sustainability Institute (shortened as China Blue) is an independent, interdisciplinary research oriented organization. It catalyzes the transformation of Chinese seafood business towards sustainability by using information tools to promote government regulation, optimize the allocation of market resources, and enhance the institutional capacity of the fishery and aquaculture industry. We have explored various approaches, including developing China's Seafood Sustainability Database (iFISH), experimenting Aquaculture Improvement Projects (AIP) and Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs), and scoping the Small-Scale Fishery (SSF) project. Furthermore, it facilitates the Chinese philanthropists' social investment to grow NGO power for ocean sustainability. 海南智渔可持续科技发展研究中心（简称"智渔"）成立于2015年, 是中国本土第一家专注推动渔业可持续发展的非营利组织。智渔通过跨学科、多视角、贴近行业的综合研究与实践，依托科学信息工具引导水产供应链各利益相关方探索可持续发展模式，从社会、经济、文化和技术多维度探寻行业可持续发展之道。智渔与国家级行业协会、科研机构联合开展行业研究，组织行业交流活动，创建中国可持续水产品数据库（iFISH），开发相关标准，帮助生产者改进资源利用管理体系。同时，智渔与海洋和渔业相关学科的高校和科研院所建立密切联系，通过实习生、合作项目联合培养新一代的海洋科学、渔业水产技术人才，培育具有跨界思维、设计思维能力、致力于蓝色经济可持续发展的社会创新型人才。智渔关注渔业社区与生态保护的平衡、社区可持续发展。先后在海南省东寨港红树林保护区、临高市新盈湿地保护区周边开展渔村生计调研工作，并与海南省林业厅、海口市海洋与渔业局、海南省环境科学研究院、联合国开发计划署（UNDP-GEF）湿地项目共同探索可持续渔业在湿地保护进程中的角色与作用。智渔还联合同行机构发起创办"中国海洋公益论坛"，论坛已成功举办两届，是中国公益圈唯一以海洋为主题的行业交流平台，呼吁和倡导公众及社会各界关注和支持海洋公益事业的发展。
