Minnan Normal University is a key construction university in Fujian Province. From the original Longxi Normal School established in the spring of 1958, the normal college of Zhangzhou University was established on the basis of the normal college in September of the same year. In the spring of 1959, Zhangzhou Normal College was established on the basis of the former Normal College of Zhangzhou University. In July 1963, with the approval of the State Council, Zhangzhou Normal College, Xiamen normal college, Quanzhou Normal College and Nanping normal college merged to establish the second Fujian Normal College in Zhangzhou. Enrollment was stopped in 1966 because of the "Cultural Revolution" and closed in 1970. Since it was reopened in 1977, Minnan Normal University has seized all the major opportunities for the development of higher education in China, accelerated the pace of reform and innovation, and achieved three major leaps in the level of running a school: it obtained the right to confer a bachelor's degree in 1992, passed the qualification assessment of the first batch of normal university undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of education in 2000, and achieved the first leap; in 2003, it was appointed by the degree committee of the State Council It will be added as a master's degree awarding unit, with the right to grant master's degree, achieving the second leap; in 2007, it was listed as a key construction university in Fujian Province, passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of education in 2008 with outstanding achievements, and was approved in 2012 as the doctoral personnel training project of cultural and Cross Strait Exchange and research, which serves the special needs of the country, achieving zero doctoral point construction in our university Breakthrough: in 2013, it was renamed as Minnan Normal University, and undergraduate major was included in this batch of enrollment, achieving the third leap.
