BlueOak Arkansas is a newly formed company backed by a prominent group of financial investors and electronic waste industry participants, is constructing a highly efficient and environmentally friendly e-waste recycling facility in Arkansas. With a rapidly increasing e-waste stream and an ever greater focus throughout the world on properly managing the e-waste stream, BlueOak is positioning itself to become the leading e-waste recycling company in North America. BlueOak's goal is to commercialize a technological alternative to integrated smelting for the recovery of high value metals from e-waste. Specifically, BlueOak's extraction technology will allow for plants with feedstock requirements <10000 tons per annum, thus enabling a distributed network of small-scale processing facilities with better supply access and significantly lower capital and operating expenses as compared with traditional smelting. BlueOak's refineries will employ state of art technology, optimized for treating e-scrap. Unlike the smelters that use submerged arc furnaces to process ore and other high-volume materials along with e-waste, BlueOak will use a plasma furnace specifically designed to process e-waste. BlueOak will use proprietary plasma furnaces designed by Tetronics, a leading supplier with over forty years of experience supplying plasma furnaces used for recovery of value from waste streams. Most importantly this technology supplier has unique expertise in the area of PM recovery from high-value waste streams. BlueOak Arkansas has established a completely new paradigm for e-waste recycling and metal recovery.
