The New Community Shelter was founded in 1994 to help the homeless and the hungry, and has evolved to become one of the most respected shelters in the State of Wisconsin and is respected by city and county officials and residents of the City of Green Bay. Our primary objectives are to help adults experiencing homelessness by offering education, individual case management, mental health support, addictions counseling and endless resources to end homelessness. We operate in an atmosphere of respect, hold people accountable and have expectations of people, as we offer help and hope to individuals striving for self-sufficiency. Mission StatementThe New Community Shelter's mission is three-fold:- To provide clean and sanitary emergency and temporary shelter, meals, education, resource and service referrals and support for adult men and women without shelter.- To provide adequate services and a safe environment to support the dignity and self-image of the residents.- To support the residents in their transition to permanent shelter and a self-sustaining lifestyle.The New Community Shelter's Emergency Shelter program is available to the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Additionally our Community Meal Program is available to children and adults from throughout the area for dinner 365 days a year and lunch every weekend and on all holidays. We are the only shelter and meal program available 24/7/365.
