In all honesty, it seems rather simple.When we buy a cheap new t-shirt, we are paying for someone, or something, somewhere along the lines of production, to be exploited. If, on the other hand, we buy something made locally and transparently, we are paying for someone to make a living, decently. Do you want to keep on financing the destruction of eco-systems?
