Hassib Sabbagh Information Technology Center of Excellence (HSITCE), is a nonprofit organization that was established in 2005 at the Arab American University Jenin as a result of a generous donation from CCC with support from (ANIRA). The main idea behind the center was to create a high-tech center to serve the community and bridge the gap between the university and the local community nearby. The center now is looking to achieve three main purposes: develop and improve community services through the use of information technology, encourage innovation and creativity in the academic environment by encouraging research and providing tools (e.g. incubation) and incentives, finally to publicize technical knowledge and skills through training courses.As a NPO its fund comes mainly from three sources: training courses, joint projects and donations.Vision:To be pioneers in bringing technology to the community.Mission:HSITCE will create the Palestinian information society. This goal can be achieved through the best practices of information technology. To accomplish this task, we will create different types of information systems for different local community units, provide high quality technical training courses for different categories of the local community according to their needs and encourage creativity and innovation for AAUJ students in the business and technical fields.Objectives:The Ultimate goal of HSITCE is to provide a high quality community service to the public in the northern west bank. HSITCE will seek to achieve the following goals:First: The center will act as an Information System (IS) provider to the community civil units by acting as an intermediary between the donors and the community civil units.Second: The center will provide a high quality technical training courses.Third: The center will encourage creativity and innovation by providing consultation to the entrepreneurs and held the required agreements for that issue.
