Haymart is a farming and milling operation headquartered in Patten, Maine. We currently own an operate 12 farms totalling over 4,000 acres and operate a milling and processing facility where we produce "Hotties" premium wood pellets, biochar, pelletized hay and grains as well as a variety of vegetables, herbs and berries. Most of our farms are in the process of being certified organic and the majority of our farm ground is classed as "Farmland of Statewide Importance." We prefer to buy abandoned farms or ones that have been completely over-forested. By focusing on good land that has not been used in agricultural production for many years, we gain comfort that our land will be free from dangerous chemicals and that we will be able to control the standards under which food is grown.
