Boys & Girls Clubs have a strong and vibrant presence in the Buckeye State, serving nearly 45,000 youth. Sixteen BGC organizations currently operate throughout Ohio, each independently operated yet tied together through the Ohio Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs statewide coalition, as well as at the national level through Boys & Girls Clubs of America. These organizations operate 64 sites across the following Counties: Lucas, Erie, Lorain, Cuyahoga, Summit, Stark, Wayne, Marion, Franklin, Washington, Clermont, Butler, Hamilton, Montgomery, and Mahoning. Clubs provide year-round, out-of-school programming for youth ages 6-18. The Clubs' focus on providing programming during "out-of-school time" helps bridge the gap between school and home and ensures that Ohio's youth have access to programs and mentors that will challenge them to achieve in school, develop a strong moral compass and make healthy lifestyle choices. We have Clubs located in public schools, local communities, and across rural, suburban and urban areas. Boys & Girls Clubs are now the 2nd largest provider of afterschool programs in rural Ohio — second only to public schools.
