For more than 100 years, Saskatoon Public Library (SPL) has been connecting citizens with a wide range of programs, services and literary materials. The Frances Morrison Central Library, along with SPL’s eight branch locations, are welcoming and vibrant community meeting spaces that strive to change lives through connections, engagement and inclusivity. Its fundamental principles of equality and diversity have also made SPL a valued public service for newcomers and marginalized populations. The organization has moved forward on various initiatives that address the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Actions, and SPL also offers EAL programs for those looking to improve their English language skills. SPL’s many outreach services—such as visits to crisis shelters, loans to correctional facilities and home deliveries to those who are physically unable to visit the library—also help ensure no one is left behind in the organization’s promotion of lifelong learning.
