Green Energy Management Services (GEMS) is a new platform to develop, build and operate clean energy assets in Italy, created by Glennmont Partners, one of Europe's largest fund managers, and PGGM Infrastructure Fund, part of the Dutch pension fund service provider PGGM. GEMS brings together both teams' unique blend of expertise in operations and asset management in the Italian market.The company manages their Italian renewable energy assets and provides services to third party clients. GEMS currently has 400MW of wind assets under its management, making it one of the biggest asset management operators in the Italian market.Clean energy-focused Glennmont recently raised €850m for its third equity fund to continue its strategy of backing renewable energy infrastructure projects in Europe. The firm was initially targeting €600m for the fund. It raised €500m for its second fund in 2014.
