The Board of Trustees of Universitas Indonesia is the highest body in the university who also known as the governing body of the university, representing the government, the interest of society, and the interest of the university itself. The Board of Trustees membership is comprised of several representatives that consist of1 ex officio Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, 6 elected Public Figures, 1 ex officio University President, 7 elected Lecturers, 1 elected non-teaching Employee, and 1 elected Studentwho are all appointed or dismissed by the Minister for a 5-year term. The Student Representative length of term is only one year, considering the main priority is to complete studies, and thus replacement by a more junior student takes place annually. Roles and Responsibilities:1. Establishing University policies.2. Overseeing the financial condition of the University.3. Approving the University Long Term Development Plan, Strategic Plan, and Work Plan & Budget and evaluate their implementation.4. Giving advice to the University President regarding the management of the University, and the implementation of laws, rules, & regulations.5. Conducting the University President performance assessment once a year, together with the Academic Senate and the Council of Professors.6. Appointing and dismissing the University President.7. Resolving University problems that cannot be resolved by other organs after going through the consideration of coordination meeting between organs.
