Mercy Iowa City was established in 1873, by four Sisters of Mercy. Today, Mercy is an acute care community hospital and regional referral center for southeast Iowa, providing a full range of medical services at the hospital and through 27 primary and specialty care clinics. Mercy's downtown campus includes the hospital, medical office building and cancer center. Mercy is accredited by The Joint Commission.
