ChasquiNet is a team of professionals who promote the strategic use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for the improvement of living conditions in impoverished sectors. We work at local, national and international levels to promote social and economic policies to support sustainable human development. About ChasquiNetThe name ChasquiNet comes from the messenger of the old Inca culture. This messenger, the Chasqui, ran long distances to carry messages or goods from one postal station to another.In our time, our organization works to connect the new 21th century "Chasquis" through a network (Net) which is, first of all, a human network.ChasquiNet, is a non-profit organization, which since 1998 works on fostering personal and social development in Ecuador and Latin America. We develop and implement programs and projects in education, development and use of community-based telecentres, and promotion of knowledge management networks, through the strategic use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT`s).NETWORKING IS IMPORTANT TO USAt ChasquiNet networking is a high valued practice because we believe in the need for sharing knowledge, integrate energies (create synergies) and mutually learn from each other. Through multiple exchanges and the development of multi-sector partnerships our goals are achieved.
