Matthew Gorringe Timber Designs, the home of prestige fine furniture handcrafted from select Tasmanian timbers.I am an independent designer and maker of the highest quality luxury timber furniture, primarily using sought after select Tasmanian timbers and veneers. My preferred timbers are Tasmanian Myrtle (Nothofagus cunninghamii), with its deep, rich red colours, and Tasmanian Blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon), which ranges from medium rich brown to deep dark hues. My passion is to create beautiful pieces of furniture that can be appreciated for both their design and rich character of the timbers used. These pieces are often one off designs or part of a limited series. I also like to create timber sculptures showcasing the essence of the timber in an abstract form.
