In January 2018, the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative released a study on the music industry revealing a six-year low for female creators in popular music. She Is The Music actively seeks to close this gap by increasing opportunity and visibility for women currently working in music, as well as developing the next generation of women to join the industry and seek leadership roles. As an umbrella nonprofit, we also provide resources and support for female-focused initiatives that are working to create meaningful change. She Is The Music currently holds some of the most successful all-female song-writing camps, with each camp hosted around an established artist. We have created a database which is the industry's ‘official' and most comprehensive directory of women working in music, and we also provide a mentorship program, currently in partnership with Step Up.
