Step Out of YOUR Sheltowee, and into the World's Warmest Hammocks!! The name Sheltowee, when translated from the Shawnee language, means "Big Turtle". It was also the name given to Daniel Boone when he was captured by, and eventually adopted into a Shawnee tribe in the Ohio River Valley. As one of the greatest early American pioneers, Boone braved the unknown and explored the unsettled mountains west of Virginia, into Kentucky. We chose the name Sheltowee to serve as a reminder to us to be modern-day trailblazers in the outdoor world. By providing you with quality, durable and lightweight camping gear, we can carry on Boone's legacy, and encourage you to continue your exploration into the wilderness.
