Having a very good track record and extensive knowlegde of the market, Icontact is the preferred partner of many publishers and libraries in The Netherlands and Belgium.And we've come a long way.In 1992/1993 Icontact, designed the LiteROM, at that time the most popular professional CD-ROM title in The Netherlands, which was available in every public library.Since then, Icontact has developed not only CD-ROM and DVD-ROM based products, but the company was also involved in training publishers, booksellers and librarians to keep them up-to-date with the latest technology.As from 1996, the company focussed on (web based) software development for the book and publishing industry.In 2006, Icontact introduced BooXtream watermarking and personalisation (aka 'social DRM') for MP3 audio books, followed in 2010 by an implementation for ebooks in the EPUB file format.In 2011, BooXtream for EPUB became the technology of choice for one of the largest ebook publishers in the world. Since 2012, BooXtream is being used by hundreds of publishers and webshops worldwide. Customers include small and medium sized publishers as well as some of worlds largest publishing houses on all continents.In 2015 Icontact was the winner of the Publishers Weekly International Book Industry Technology Supplier Award at the London Book Fair International Excellence Awards.In 2019 Icontact introduced Audiyence, the white label audiobook app platform: your audio - your customers - your app.In addition to these in-house products, Icontact creates and maintains bespoke software for Dutch and Belgian publishers, booksellers, libraries and trade associations.
