The mission of the Adamstown Area Library is to maintain and improve the quality of life in our community by providing access to cultural, intellectual, and informational resources and programs to promote life-long learning for all ages. Notable honors include a nomination for the National Medal for Museum and Library Service. The award recognizes libraries that demonstrate a core commitment to public service through effective partnerships and innovative programs that address the changing needs of the communities they serve. This was followed by the the library receiving a commemorative plaque for its many years of service and contributions to Adamstown Borough. In addition, the library's Friend's Group was granted the Friends Group of the Year Award, an honor given to our Friends by Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries. The Library is a member of the Library System of Lancaster County and is responsible for providing library services to the 30,000 + residents of Adamstown, Brecknock, Denver, East Cocalico and West Cocalico.
