Iringa Development of Youth Disabled and Children Care (IDYDC) is a local Non Governmental Organization based in Iringa region southern part of Tanzania with its headquarters in Iringa Municipal. IDYDC was established in 1991 and got registered in 1994 – with registration number SO. NO 7552. The reason for establishment was to support street children and orphans by giving them a chance to get shelter and education.IDYDC acquired the certificate of ‘Compliance' No. 0843 under sec. 11(3) act No. 24 of 2002 in 2009.We have been working on different areas with most of the projects on health issues. The major programs we are running now are, Street Children Rehabilitation Program (IOGT-NTO), Zinduka Kupitia Soka (Grassroot Soccer), AIDS Free VMMC (Jhpiego/USAID), Alcohol Abuse Prevention (IOGT-NTO) and other programs are on the pipeline.At IDYDC we are always collaborating with other NGOs, international and local and we are working closely with Government agencies. We share experience with volunteers from different countries, our organisation have a friendly environment and we are open to receive anyone who will be willing to volunteer in social issues.The organization has been working in 7 district of Iringa region since 2004. We have branch offices in the districts of Ludewa, Makete, Mufindi, Kilolo, Iringa rural, Iringa urban and Njombe which has now been declared by the government to be a new region. Both Iringa and Njombe had a total population of more than 1,818,000 people.
