Senior Advisor at Queen's Commerce Service Initiative - Kingston, Ontario, Canada
Queen's Commerce Service Initiative (QCSI), is an organization consisting of hardworking business students dedicated to creating change on both a local and international level. Within the Kingston community, we focus on giving back to the less fortunate. Our club has established meaningful partnerships with four Kingston not-for- profit organizations in which our members volunteer weekly. The focal point of our club is an annual service trip to a community in need. Our organization started out by visiting New Orleans to aid in local construction due to the devastation from Hurricane Katrina. Since then, our club has expanded its impact beyond North America by planning and executing trips to Guatemala and Costa Rica. This past year, we helped build a wheelchair accessible home for an impoverished family in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Not only were the materials completely funded by QCSI, but we also financed professional contractors to ensure a sustainable and safe project, as well as contributing to the local economy. This past February, our team participated in a construction trip to Antigua, Guatemala. Through this experience, we were able to make a substantial impact while also gaining a fresh perspective by immersing ourselves in new cultural surroundings. We believe that the opportunities provided by QCSI to both our members and beneficiaries create lasting positive impacts, and we hope to bring this value to as many people as possible. Sponsorship will allow us to facilitate our mission in a manner that reaches more of Queen's students and provides further assistance to those in need. It would be our pleasure to have a partnership with your organization in the upcoming year. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any further questions regarding our club.
