To cater for this expected growth, Council has rezoned sufficient land to accommodate this 7,100 housing target for release over the next 20 years and this is supported by over $200 million investment in new sewerage and water infrastructure.The Clarence is worth about $1.7 billion in Gross Regional Product (GRP), and growing steadily at about 0.6% each year. The Clarence contributes around 17% to the gross regional product of the Northern Rivers region which is valued at $9.8 billion.
