Deputy President at Malaysian Young Graduates Association (GRADUAN) - Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia
Malaysian Young Graduates Association, better known as GRADUAN, is a renowned non-governmental youth organization officially established on 15th of May 2000, by a group of young patriotic graduates after the 10th Malaysian General Election in 1999, as an effort to change the widespread political apathy amongst the youths in Malaysia, as well as bringing out the thoughts and issues faced by them to the government. Before the period of the millennium, the socioeconomic aspect of Malaysia was simultaneously affected by financial turmoil and political turbulence. As a consequence, there was a profound impact on the thinking of the youths during that period of time.Realizing that racial and religious extremism have gradually eroded Malaysia's society and system of organization, a group of aspiring young graduates stepped forward with a strong desire to build a better Malaysia and play a more active role in the society. Since the inception of GRADUAN Malaysia 20 years ago, we have been cultivating numerous young graduates who later on becoming leaders in their respective fields, including politics, education, culture, arts, and business.Under the leadership of Mr Lee Seang Hock as the 4th President of GRADUAN Malaysia, we realize that should our youths continue to stay in the comfort zone, we would ultimately fail to keep up with the pace in the rapidly changing world. Hence, GRADUAN Malaysia has introduced the slogan of "Professional Graduates, Global Perspective" so as to assist the youths to enhance their own capabilities and widen their horizons. To date, GRADUAN has successfull engaged with more than 60 student organizations from over 40 public and private higher education institutes all over Malaysia, through 3 of our annual flagship events, namely "GRADUAN National Inter-Varsity Cultural Camp", "GRADUAN Paper Plane Award" and "GRAD+ Enrichment Workshop".
