PALS Preschool was formed in September 2008 by a group of parents and teachers as a registered charity. The aim of the school is to provide high quality early intervention programs for children with Speech and Language delay or diagnosed disorder, including Down's Syndrome, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Global Developmental Delay (GDD) and others. PALS enrols children aged between 2 ½ to 6 years and a professional referral is not an entry requirement. Our staff consists ABA trained psychology graduates and a qualified primary school teacher as well as a consultant Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and a consultant Speech and Language Therapist (SLT). These consultants develop tailored behaviour and speech programmes and train staff in implementing these.PALS Preschool offers two services, one a low ratio (4:1) preschool that concentrates on providing a variety of structured play and free play focusing on language, motor integration, sensory play, art time and story time and the second, a one-to-one Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) programme. ABA programmes are mostly related to intervention for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD); however, our ABA service is not limited to clients with ASD. We at PALS believe in working very closely with parents in developing programs for their children. This collective approach allows us to provide a nurturing environment where children can develop their communication skills and we can help them with in achieving their milestones.
